Goose Island Beer Co. 2021 Bourbon County Stout Lineup

Goose Island Beer Co. has officially released their 2021 Bourbon Stout Lineup, including eight featured stouts that showcase versatility in their flavors, notes, and barrel-aging process. The top-fermented beers are aged in barrels from Old Forester, Heaven Hill, and Buffalo Trace, among several other renowned distilleries, integral in the process of creating these stouts.

Over twenty years ago, Greg Hall had a desire to revolutionize the beer industry, but he needed a breakthrough to do that. After a happenstance exchange between Greg and Jim Beam’s Booker Noe, the world’s first bourbon barrel-aged beer was created: Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stout. Greg would become the brew master for Goose Island Brewery for the next two decades, pioneering bourbon barrel-aged stouts.

“From starting in a crawl space under our original Clybourn Brewpub, to constructing a world-class barrel warehouse in Chicago, to partnering with the world’s most sought-after distilleries – Bourbon County Stout is at the heart of Goose Island’s DNA,” President of Goose Island Beer Co., Todd Ashmann says.

Today’s standards uphold Bourbon County Stout as a unique and innovative favorite, both locally and globally. Goose Island’s 2021 Stout Lineup, through each of its eight stouts, displays the intricate craftsmanship and purposeful ingredients that go in to formulating this novelty spirit.

Goose Island Beer Co. is a brewery based out of Chicago, Illinois committed to improving the craft beer industry through quality and innovation, cultural improvement, and sustainability efforts.
