Old Dominick Distillery Establishes Glass Half Full Charitable Fund

Old Dominick Distillery views the glass half full with a new charitable fund. Old Dominick Distillery is creating a permanent charitable arm that will allow employees to engage in and take ownership of the company’s long history of charitable giving.

“We felt that the time was right to establish something that provided us an opportunity to give back to the community and allow our employees to do the same,” said Chris Canale, President of Old Dominick Distillery.

The Glass Half Full Old Dominick Charitable Fund, in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, will be governed by a board of Old Dominick employee volunteers. Each year, beginning in 2023, Glass Half Full will utilize funds raised to partner with a local organization working to positively impact the local Memphis community. This partnership will include a monetary gift from the GHF donor advised fund as well as in-kind service and employee volunteerism.

“Our ultimate goal with this fund is to have a lasting and meaningful impact on our community and  continue to build a legacy our employees can be proud of,” said Canale.

The goal of GHF is to uplift those who are already dedicated to doing the work of serving our city. Each year, GHF will open the grant application window at 8:00am on May 1st and continue to accept  applications on a rolling basis through 5:00pm on September 1st. Once the submission window closes, the GHF board will choose a partner for the following year. The chosen partner will be notified of their selection by October 1st.

The first of many fundraising events will take place at Old Dominick Distillery on April 14th, 2022, from  6:00-8:00pm. Old Dominick and the Glass Half Full Board Members invite anyone interested in learning more about the fund to attend a rooftop reception featuring cocktails, appetizers, a brief presentation, and live music. Tickets are $50 each and include an open bar, catering from the Hyatt Centric Beale  Street, and entertainment from Memphis’ own Black Cream. All proceeds from ticket sales will go  towards the GHF Fund. Tickets can be purchased here or on Eventbrite.com: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/295466447097

GHF Mission: Accrue and distribute resources including funds, in-kind donations, and direct service to local partners in the interest of serving the greater Memphis community.

GHF Vision: To make a transformational impact on our community by supporting neighbors in need with integrity and dedication in order to create a more equitable Memphis for all.
