Spring 2025 Issue Preview

What You’ll Find Inside: Winter Issue 2025

Spring has sprung, and we here at Bourbon+ are ready to embrace the season in all its fiery glory. It’s the time of year that seems to reinvigorate how we eat, drink, and celebrate. As such, this issue is packed with refreshing cocktail recipes, fascinating personalities, and features that remind us why this season is meant to be savored.

Our cover story dives into the bold flavors of spring with mixologist Kat Sobredilla, whose natural approach to cocktails transforms the ingredients. Sobredilla uses flavor as her guiding principle and her creations prove that cocktails can be both intentional and indulgent.

Spring is also a time for new collaborations. Ammunition Wines & Whiskey partnered with Yellowstone actress Kelly Reilly, who developed a deep appreciation for the American West while starring as Beth Dutton. That appreciation made her the perfect fit for Ammunition’s Soil to Spirit campaign. “I have always harbored a deep respect for the land and our natural resources,” Reilly said. “I was immediately drawn to Ammunition’s commitment to creating a standout product with a brand identity rooted in the spirit of the American West.”

In this issue, we’re putting some famous names to the test with our celebrity bourbon feature. We tasted and ranked offerings from Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Michael Bublé, Bob Dylan, and Alan Jackson, revealing which ones hit the right notes.

For those who prefer to utilize their bourbon in the kitchen, we’ve got a Guide to Cooking with Bourbon that’s loaded with tips for boosting flavor in everything from marinades to desserts.

We also sit down with former FBI hostage negotiator Chris Voss to talk about how his new bourbon brand, The Difference Whiskey, approaches business with the same instincts he used to navigate negotiations.

That brings us to our spotlight on the city of Nashville, where whiskey culture is booming alongside the city’s legendary music scene. Whether you’re looking for a casual sip or a tasting experience worthy of a connoisseur, Music City delivers. There’s something for everyone in this issue as we visit Piedmont on Piedmont in Alabama in Bar Scout, spend time with ceramicist Sara Kathryn Hopple, whose stoneware creations elevate the whiskey-drinking experience, chat with singer Drew Holcomb about his venture with Sweetens Cove whiskey, and so much more!

So as the flowers bloom and days become longer, let’s raise a glass to the season and embrace the moment. Because, as we all know, the best things in life—like bourbon and good company—are meant to be shared.

Cheers!
