Spring 2026 Issue Preview

What You’ll Find Inside: Spring Issue 2026
Flowers are blooming, and the sun is shining as we step into the spring months. Bourbon+ is moving forward, leaning into the new energy of the season. The issue you have before you focuses on growth and raising a glass to what lies ahead.
Our cover story features Dee Robinson, founder of Good Trouble whiskey and one of the more inspirational people we’ve had the pleasure of working with at Bourbon+. Writer Heide Brandes raved about the time she was able to spend speaking with Robinson in an hour-long conversation.
As Women’s History Month has just ended, I found Robinson to be a great figure to shine the spotlight on in a male-dominated industry. She spent her time studying craft distilling and learning everything there was to know about the business. “You can’t be called Good Trouble and be bad,” Robinson tells us about the name and shares her journey from boardrooms to barrel rooms. Don’t miss the cover story for her inspiring story.
In this issue, we travel to Fort Collins, Colorado, to shine a light on its whiskey and bourbon happenings. We found it plentiful. For those who aren’t aware, the NOCO distillery, located in Northern Colorado, was voted Best Micro Distillery in 2024 and produces over 35 different spirits. Fort Collins is home to Colorado State University and has a vibrant downtown. It has emerged as a hub for craft spirits, hosting several notable distilleries, including Seed and Spirit Distilling, which grows its own corn. For whiskey lovers, Fort Collins is a place to check out on your next vacation and experience what the town has to offer.
We also talked with the Riedel Glassware CEO, Maximillian Riedel, as the company launches a new bourbon glass; we go beyond bourbon and take a look at the folks behind grower champagne, we look at what it takes to create an in-home bourbon bar to fill that empty space in your home, and more.
Also, I must mention that Bourbon+ held a Holiday Tasting event in December, where we tracked down some of the best bourbon vintages around to give our fans a taste for the holiday season. During the event, Seth Weinberg, vintage whiskey, liquor, and cocktail consultant, broke out his own secret stash to share with guests. Weinberg shared Old Whiskey River, produced by Heaven Hill in partnership with country superstar Willie Nelson; a 1976 Jim Beam, released for the nation’s bicentennial, and a private label scotch whiskey called Cook’s Body Scotch. You can see all the action on page 46, and if you’d like to be a part of our next big Bourbon tasting event, make sure you subscribe and stay in the know.
I’m excited to share this issue of Bourbon+ as we take you through a wide variety of stories throughout the spirits industry. From stories about Kentucky distillers’ odd structures being built to make bourbon to cocktail recipes and young spirits, we have it all for you to take in. Hope you enjoy this issue as much as we did creating it.
